Nothing like trying to sell and house, buying a new house, and going overseas for 2 weeks to keep your life interesting! With our current house still on the market, we closed on our new house 3 days before we left for Europe. We didn't even get to take the keys or go see the new house, since the previous owners had to "rent" from us for half of our trip! I think houses were pretty far from our minds as we boarded the plane for a trip of a lifetime.
All smiles at the beginning of the flight, but this is what happens to Sami after 11 hours of travel time!
Super cute and SUPER sleepy! Welcome to London baby! There was so much to see and do. Since we were only there for a day and a half before the cruise, we had to make the most of it. We dropped our bags off at the hotel and set out or some sightseeing.
We made sure to see the British Museum. There was so much in there, we didn't even see a small portion of it. Very overwhelming to be surrounded by so much history!
Day 2 was a big one:
Big Ben and the Parliament Building
Posing in front of the Parliament building- we couldn't get too close!
Buckingham Palace was quite the place to be with everyones mind on the recent wedding of Prince William and Kate Middleton.
Sami took some time in front of the fountain to wonder whether or not Prince William might be home...
Before posing for pictures
We left the palace to visit Westminster Abbey- what a treat!
but my favorite picture is a simple one of a little girl and her grandparents
Our tour of the Thames River took us from the London Eye over to the Tower of London and past the London Bridge
Check out all of Sami's new teeth!
Of course there is just no impressing a toddler with History or beauty, her favorite part was the ride on the double decker bus!
A few non sightseeing highlights: eating outside in a little cafe, a smart little girl who was able to get the candy bar unwrapped and in her mouth before we noticed she was hiding in between the bed and the wall of our hotel, and our very own little naked Picasso.
And that was just the first few days!
