It took 15 hours to drive to Chico. The wind was horrible, there was some snow, chains were required over the pass- but we made it at 5:30AM. We couldn't wait to go surprise Momo in the hospital, we were thankful that no one told her we were coming. When she saw us... she started to cry. Luckily, they were tears of happiness :)
We spent as much time as we could with Momo in her hospital room. It gave us plenty of time for photo ops!
Lots of pictures with Momo.... but she wanted to make sure Mark did NOT put her in the picture
(Mark has his finger over Momo!)
At Momo's house, Sami got to wait for Santa at the large windows, play with the dancing Santa and had a blast in the laundry basket.
It's the little things in life :) It was nice to see some family that we didn't expect to see this Holiday Season. I am so very glad that Sami got to spend some time with cousin Ellie. They are so much closer in size now!
Ellie had the cutest Owl hat. If anyone knows where to find one, please let me know!
We were able to have lunch with our Cousin Denise, whom I had not seen in years
My friend Tamara was able to bring the kids over to visit. The last time I saw Caitlyn, she was still in Mommy's belly at my baby shower last year! (I threw in a picture for perspective!)
Cole Buddy was so good with both of the girls. He even kept Sami occupied going up and down the hallway.
Good News! Momo was well enough to transfer to a rehabilitation hospital where they could take care of her and do physical therapy at the same time. The change in Momo was amazing. Her color was better, her energy was back up. She smiled more. I think the change of scenery did her well. On Christmas Eve we all went to spend time with her before our trip back up to Washington.
If that is not happiness, I don't know what is!
We posed for a few more Christmas pictures before saying goodbye. It was sad to go, but good to see her doing so well.
Sami couldn't figure out what Momo had on her head :)
The trip home didn't take as long as the drive down, but it was still 11 hours. It was dark most of the trip, so I have very few pictures. But here is Sami all bundled up for a pit stop just before Ashland, OR
More to come!!!
